Dredge is an RPG with horror elements where players take on the role of a novice fisherman. As you play, you'll need to manage your fishing business while contending with not only the forces of nature but also terrifying monsters and cultists. The player assumes the role of a rookie fisherman trying to establish a business on an archipelago known as the Marrows. It soon becomes apparent that the surrounding waters hold many horrifying secrets, and a mysterious occult organization is attempting to exploit them for its own purposes.

In Dredge, fishing is your main activity. Initially, you start with a small boat, and the fish you catch provide the income needed to upgrade your vessel with a more powerful engine, larger hold, and better fishing equipment, such as rods, nets, and crab pots. Over time, you can purchase a more advanced boat and gain access to more lucrative fishing areas. However, fishing is not the only way to earn money. Soon, you start receiving offers to salvage artifacts from the ocean floor. These missions are profitable but dangerous, and as the story unfolds, your employer's motives become increasingly suspicious.
