BioShock Infinite is a first-person action game, serving as a spin-off in the BioShock series. Set in the early 20th century, players assume the role of Booker DeWitt, a detective working for the Pinkerton agency. After being expelled due to a mishap, DeWitt takes on dangerous freelance jobs, leading him to the airborne city of Columbia. Originally a peaceful project, Columbia has become a floating fortress under the control of an unknown group, kidnapping and imprisoning people and posing a global threat.

DeWitt’s mission is to rescue a woman named Elizabeth from Columbia, which is torn by a conflict between two factions. The ruling faction has kept Elizabeth captive for fifteen years and will stop at nothing to keep her imprisoned, while the radical Vox Populi seeks to use her to seize control of the city.

The game provides players with a variety of weapons, including shotguns and sniper rifles, and special powers. Similar to previous BioShock games, players can use abilities like lightning attacks and telekinesis to lift and throw objects. Booker gains new skills, such as summoning crows to incapacitate enemies. Elizabeth also wields extraordinary powers, manipulating tears in the fabric of reality to summon items and aid Booker in combat.
