Destiny 2: Forsaken takes players to the Tangled Shore, a lawless region on the outskirts of the Reef, located in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. This area, once a haven for pirates and outlaws seeking lost treasures, serves as the setting for the expansion's storyline. The player, accompanied by the iconic Cayde-6, is sent to investigate a recent outbreak of violence in the Prison of Elders. Upon arrival, they discover that eight Barons, the most dangerous criminals, have escaped. Despite being ordered to stand down by the Vanguard, the heroes embark on a mission to hunt down these fugitives.

The expansion introduces a wealth of new content, including a series of story-driven missions and a new cooperative raid that delves into the secrets of the Dreaming City, a second key location in the DLC. This mystical city becomes the primary area for endgame activities, packed with secrets and challenges designed for high-level characters.
