Arizona Sunshine 2 is the second installment in a series of zombie survival shooters designed for virtual reality by Vertigo Games. Similar to its predecessor, Arizona Sunshine 2 plunges players into a sun-scorched Arizona overrun by hordes of bloodthirsty zombies, referred to here as "Freds." Throughout the gameplay, you assume the role of a protagonist fighting for survival while maintaining a lighthearted demeanor, often delivering humorous commentary about the undead and the situations encountered.

Accompanying the protagonist is a loyal four-legged friend named Buddy, adding to the camaraderie amidst the chaos. The game is presented in first-person perspective (FPP), immersing players in the action as they traverse dead streets and explore abandoned buildings primarily for the purpose of exterminating zombie hordes. Freds are dispatched using both melee weapons and firearms, including machetes, pistols, submachine guns, and even flamethrowers. Ammunition is scarce, forcing players to frequently rely on environmental objects like explosive barrels to efficiently dispose of enemies and conserve bullets.
