Set at the crossroads of adventure and beat 'em up genres, Asterix & Obelix XXXL: The Ram from Hibernia transports players to ancient Hibernia (modern-day Ireland) to defend it from a Roman invasion and rescue the local chieftain's golden ram. The game's story unfolds in 50 B.C., a time when nearly all of Gaul has fallen under Roman rule, with only one small village resisting the invaders. To prevent Hibernia from suffering the same fate, Keratina, the daughter of Chief Whiskitonix, calls upon the titular heroes for help. Asterix and Obelix must repel the Roman forces and retrieve Whiskitonix's beloved golden ram. Along their journey, they receive assistance from the druid Getafix, who is brewing a potion that grants anyone who drinks it extraordinary strength.
