Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection is a compilation of three of the most popular installments in the Assassin's Creed series, including Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Similar to the original Assassin's Creed, the storyline of each game is based on two narrative threads: a modern-day plot and a historical plot.

In the modern-day plot, players assume the role of Desmond Miles. Following his successful escape from the headquarters of Abstergo Industries, Desmond starts collaborating with the contemporary Assassin Brotherhood, represented by Lucy Stillman and her companions, Shaun and Rebecca. They take him to their hideout, where he encounters an upgraded version of the Animus – a device that allows users to experience the memories of their ancestors stored in their DNA. Through this device, players can follow the adventures of another renowned Assassin after Altaïr ibn-La'Ahad – Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

Despite the expansion of the modern-day storyline in subsequent installments, it serves mainly as a supplement to the primary historical narrative. In Assassin's Creed II, players experience Ezio's journey from a young nobleman in Renaissance Italy to a master Assassin. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood continues his story as he leads the Brotherhood of Assassins in Rome to dismantle the power of the Templars. Finally, Assassin's Creed: Revelations follows Ezio's quest to uncover the secrets of Altaïr and solidify his legacy.
